Gift Card Terms

Value and expiry

Gift cards are issued in US dollars between $25 and $1,000. Funds do not expire. There are no dormancy, inactivity, maintenance or service fees of any kind, at any point.

Where it can be used

Each card is issued for one named workshop and redeemable only there. Cards are not transferable between partners and cannot be combined into a single balance.

What it can be spent on

Everything the issuing workshop sells, including made-to-order and bespoke commissions, deposits on commissioned work, monogramming and personalisation, and repairs where offered. There are no excluded product lines.

How it is redeemed

Present the card number at the workshop, on a phone or printed, or quote it by email if commissioning remotely. Partial redemption is supported and the remaining balance stays on the card. Cards may be used alongside other payment methods and are honoured at face value with no minimum spend and no blackout dates.

Lead times are not guaranteed

Several partners make to order. A card does not reserve a production slot, and lead times shown on workshop pages are estimates supplied by those workshops. If a piece is needed by a specific date, contact the workshop before commissioning.

Cash redemption

Cards are not redeemable for cash except where state law requires it. Several states require cash-out of small remaining balances on request, and we honour those requirements.

Lost or stolen cards

Contact us at [email protected] with your order number. We can cancel a card and reissue the remaining balance if it has not already been spent. We cannot recover value already redeemed.

Fraud warning

We will never contact you to ask for a gift card number or PIN. No legitimate business, government agency or utility will ever ask you to pay a bill, fine, tax or invoice with a gift card. If anyone instructs you to buy cards and read out the numbers, stop and report it to us and to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.

If a workshop closes

If a partner leaves the platform or ceases trading, outstanding balances on its cards are refunded to the original purchaser. Funds backing unredeemed cards are held separately from our operating accounts, which is what makes this possible.

Refunds

Gift cards are generally non-refundable once delivered, because delivery transfers value to the recipient. Exceptions: duplicate orders reported within 14 days, cards never delivered due to our error, and partner closure as above.

Employer-purchased cards

Cards bought as staff gifts are generally treated as taxable compensation rather than a de minimis benefit, because they are a cash equivalent. Speak to your accountant before placing a large order.

Unclaimed property

Where state unclaimed-property law requires unredeemed balances to be reported and remitted, we comply. This does not reduce or expire your balance.
